After a statement 2-0 over Anyone's Legend on home soil in Paris, KC support Alan "Busio" Cwalina discuss with Trixcity. A milestone win — his first-ever best-of series victory against an LPL or LCK team — and a much-needed one, keeping KC alive at the Esports World Cup and reigniting the team's momentum after a disappointing MSI.
So first, Busio, how important was this win for the confidence, for the momentum, and finally to reassure the fan in your home turf?
Yeah, this win was very important. I've never beaten an LPL or LCK team in best of series, so finally did it. So I'm very happy in that regard. And then also for the tournament, it's important. It was our last life. It always will be.
And for the fans, we had the French crowd with us, so we had to win.
Would you say it was important as well to build that confidence because you are not in the best. In the best shape recently. You didn't look like in the best shape, at least on stage.
Yeah, of course, it's a lot of positive momentum. And yeah, we've been training really hard and training in a different way. So I'm glad it's showing.
Last time we talked was right before MSI. Can you maybe walk me through what happened since then for you and for the team during and after the MSI, the discussion maybe you had, and the reasons behind the disappointment in Korea?
Our analysis of what went wrong in MSI was especially on stage, we were a little too calculated. We were thinking too hard. Before we were making plays, we were making sure everybody's on the same page and whatnot. But now it's much more focused on the individual.
If somebody sees something good, they just do it. And if something wrong happens, that's okay.

We're just thinking a bit less and playing a bit more naturally with what's on our screen. And so far, that's making us much more snappy with our engages and much more creative with our plays. Though it does introduce some more mistakes, but it's definitely overall a huge benefit.
It looked like recently the team was not not always on the same page. Today everyone seemed to finally be on the same screen — what made the difference?
We just weren't talking too much. We were playing with what's on our screen. Everybody can play the game. We play solo, queue all the time, we scrim all the time. So it's just about thinking less and it keeps it simpler.
Do you have the impression that now you kind of got the job done? That tomorrow and after will kind of be a bonus?
Of course, today was a good victory, but we're here to win, so there's no reason to celebrate and relax now.
We're happy that we're showing progress, but we need to keep playing well and rewatch the games as well and be ready for tomorrow.
