Interview made right after TSW's elimination from MSI
Having shocked Top Esports 3-1 in the lower bracket, the LCP's first seed went down 3-0 to LYON. Trixcity got the chance to speak with TSW ADC Hoàng "Eddie" Công Nghĩa following the loss about the mental blow that came after, the years of graft behind this roster's breakthrough, and a difficult EWC group awaiting in Paris.
How are you feeling?
I feel pretty rough, because the match certainly didn't go the way we'd hoped.
What do you think was the difference factor today — why didn't the match go the way you planned?
We held a decent lead in the first game and managed to sneak the Baron, but then our Baron got stolen and they snowballed the game to the finish. I think our mentality took a heavy hit after that opening game.

You still beat Top Esports at this tournament. Would you say that's already a good enough result — not just taking a game off an LPL team in a BO5, but taking the whole series?
We can do even more than just beating Top Esports. But things didn't exactly go as we planned.
How do you explain the difference in result between your match against Top Esports and your match against LYON? Are they just a better team than Top Esports ? Or do you consider that you just underperformed?
No,
I think LYON is only average. It's mostly because we are not at our best right now.
You've spent your whole career with Secret Whales, and this is your first year winning trophies and reaching international tournaments. What does that finally-rewarded work mean to you?
It's the fruits of our effort. Not just me, but the whole team — we have been waiting for so long for the chance to go to international events.
What's the difference this year compared to the others before?
The current team is young and inexperienced, but at the same time they're extremely good to work with each other. I think that's the key to our success for now.
Are you satisfied with your individual performance at this MSI?
No, I'm not satisfied with my performance at this MSI. I need to learn a lot more so I can perform well in the upcoming tournaments.
What's the biggest lesson — in game or as a group — that you'll carry into LCP Split 3 and to show up better at Worlds?
I learned a lot from the tougher teams and from this opponent about how they play the game and how they use their team comps.
Is there one specific in-game thing you've learned that you'll take with you?
I learned a lot about the moments — the specific moments where we managed to beat the opponents.
Who do you think wins the whole thing?
HLE.
You'll play EWC in a week, in a group with Gen.G, KC and Sentinels. What are your thoughts on it?
They're all strong opponents but,
I'm mostly concerned about Gen.G rather than the other two. As long as we perform well, I think we can beat them.
Any ADC you'd like to face at EWC, in your group or beyond?
I'd like to learn more from Peyz and Gumayusi.
